We sat down to gab about all things wedding with the ever fabulous Meghan Andalman of Lovebird Events

US: How would you describe yourself?
MA: Hard-working, fiercely loyal and kind. I’m also politically correct, afraid of germs (thanks Mom!) and powered by Starbucks.

US:Wedding advice you wish you knew before walking down the aisle?
MA: Don’t sweat the small stuff!?! Easier said than done, of course. Seriously though, I think it is important to remember that there is no ONE way to plan a wedding. Stay true to your vision and everything else will fall into place.

US: Most treasured moment of your wedding day?
MA: I have so many wonderful memories from my wedding day–it’s hard to pick just one!

At one point during the ceremony, our officiant asked my husband and me to turn around and face our guests so that we could see everyone who came to support and celebrate our marriage. It was such a simple thing–and only took a minute or two–but it was so nice to share that moment with our closet family and friends. It made me feel like our guests were a part of our ceremony, not just an audience. I’m so happy she had us do this. It’s a memory that I will always cherish.

US: Absolute favorite part about your job?
MA: The relationships. I love, love, love my clients and feel so honored that I get to be a part of their special day. Everything from helping select the perfect Save the Date to putting the finishing touches on a table design is fun! On top of that, I get to work with so many talented wedding professionals who constantly inspire me. I cannot even begin to count the number of wonderful people I’ve met through Lovebird. Really, it’s amazing.

US: Absolute favorite part about THE DAY?
MA: Sending my bride down the aisle always makes me feel like a proud Mama. It’s such a BIG moment! And, I love to see the look on the groom’s face as he sees his bride walking towards him. So special and beautiful!

US: A wedding trend you are currently LOVING?
MA: The return to romance. Our brides are moving away from bold colors and modern designs in favor of a more subtle, elegant look. Think lush flowers, loads of candlelight and antique-inspired decor.

I’m currently loving all things letterpress. We have some truly gorgeous invitation options that are effortlessly chic, yet totally timeless. They just scream romance. We’re also seeing a lot of interesting embellishments–ornate floral designs, the incorporation of fabric and lace and fresh new color palates are all very popular right now.

US: Any tips on SAVING green?
MA: Don’t forget your something old and something borrowed! Wear your Grandma’s earrings and borrow your best friend’s veil. Not only do these items add sentimental value to your wedding, they also don’t cost a thing!

US: What is something that sets you apart as a wedding professional?
MA: My number one objective is to help my clients enjoy each and every moment of the planning process. Simply stated, I want the planning to be as enjoyable as the actual party.

When I was a bride, I was completely overwhelmed by all of the “things” that needed to be done and I even had the advantage of an event planning background! The reality is, most brides have never planned a wedding before so it is an entirely new experience. I help my clients develop a “plan” for navigating the planning process. This means that they know what needs to be done and how it is going to be completed. My approach is organized, but laid-back. We execute visions and eliminate uncertainty. Most importantly, we ALWAYS have fun! The end result is a beautiful, stress free day that my clients and their families can thoroughly enjoy.
