How should men dress at weddings?

If you don’t know who David Himmel, well… we pity you!  Google him, friend him, follow him and generally do whatever it is he tells you to do.  Really.

David was asked by Fashion Managed to opine on how men should dress at weddings.  And guess what?  He had something to say – rightfully so as he is one of the most dapper gents in Chicago!

David makes a good point that is is a big day for the groom, too.  “Come on, he’s marrying you.  He also has to look good.  Because while everyone is waiting for you to walk down the aisle, they’re killing time staring at your man.”  Again, the groom should look and feel as amazing as you do, our fabulous bride!

Some tips from David Himmel style must do’s:
- Keep it simple & classic
- Be subtle with your personal taste
- Wear a suit
- Avoid renting a tuxedo at all cost (check out our thoughts on this at MONEY MONDAY: Rent or Buy? That is the Tuxedo Question)

In the end, it is about looking great. And, as David says, “it’s also about being able to dance”!

David Himmel is a writer, editor and producer in Chicago. David has stood up in four weddings, owns his own tuxedo and sleeps in an ascot.  He has sung with Judy Collins, had lunch with Dick Cheney and was once beaten up by a girl.  Despite all that, David is generally known as a sweet guy.

And we at theBrideScoop.com LOVE him!  Just saying.
