it's a big, bridal world out there. start here.
We wish it would go without saying that you should wear a bra but obviously we have not gotten the message! The girls need support!!!
Smartphones have made us too accessible. Everywhere you look, people are glued to their cell phone, oblivious to their surroundings. As a result, some have a hard time disconnecting even at the gym!
For MARRIED MONDAY, we shared Lydia Netzer‘s article: 15 Ways to Stay Married for 15 Years! While we do not agree will every single point, number ten really struck as the TRUTH (yes, with a capital “T” and all caps after that!!!). What is it? Stop thinking temporarily about marriage. Most brides think that getting married is the finish line… no, ladies! It is just the beginning of the awesome journey of life together forever.
I recently had a bride email me the following: “So we are going to have some kids at our wedding after all. I made it clear to people that it was going to be an adults only wedding, but people decided to invite their kids anyway. It’s been a bit of eye-opening experience, especially because one person confronted me head-on about the babies thing (‘We can’t bring our kids? What is up that? What am I supposed to do?’). I was so shocked that I basically caved right then and there.”
With the warm weather approaching, we cannot wait to take our drinking alfresco. There is something so decadent and fun about sipping a cocktail outside. Everyone has their favorites, I am sure. But when it comes to outdoor libations my heart belongs to sangria. This is perhaps because I love wine. Or maybe it is because I enjoy boozy fruit. No matter the reason, sangria is my summer drink of choice! Refreshing and slightly sweet, fruity and deceptively potent sangria is infinitely patio friendly.
In preparation for writing this article, I googled ugly toes. I dare you. Just don’t do it when you are eating… I am scarred for life at what I saw! Really, really bad. So, I will save you from the worst ugly toe photos but here is one that I bet looks like a lot of your little piggies - not horrible but definitely not cute!
I was going to comment on the controversy surrounding the K-E diet, featured in the New York Times last week, but there already has been a conversation. If you do not know what I am referring to, this is a diet used by brides as a quick way to meet their wedding weight loss goal. While it is fairly new in the United States, it has been popular for many years in Italy and Europe. Essentially, for the price tag of approximately $1,500, a nasogastric tube (a tube is inserted through the nose, down the esophagus, and into the stomach) is used to provide nourishment (with no carbohydrates) for ten days.
SQN Events shared a wonderful TIP TUESDAY about your tasting, guests’ meal selection and confirming final guest count and meals to your caterer or venue. So, if your guests have a choice of beef or fish (with a vegetarian option and kids’ meal thrown in for good measure and do not for the vendor meals!), the chef is already making five different types of meals. What happens when you get a guest with a list like this?
Chicken or beef? Beef or fish? Chicken or fish? How many vegetarians?
These are the things your caterer will need to know when you give them your final count about a week before your wedding. So, how do you figure this out?
Last week, we discussed how many people per table. And this week, Gourmet Rambler please asks you not to have a single person’s table. And one super simple TIP TUESDAY - offset your tables!
