MARRIED MONDAY: Thought for Today ~ Fawn Weaver

Marriage:  Love is the reason.
Lifelong friendship is the gift.
Kindness is the cause.
Til’ death do us part is the length.

MARRIED MONDAY: Thought for Today ~ Gordon Hinckley

Aim high, but do not aim so high that you totally miss the target.
What really matters is that he will love you, that he will respect you,
that he will honor you, that he will be absolutely true to you,
that he will give you the freedom of expression and
let you fly in the development of your own talents.
He is not going to be perfect, but if he is kind and thoughtful,
if he knows how to work and earn a living, if he is honest and full of faith,
the chances are you will not go wrong, that you will be immensely happy.

~ Gordon Hinckley

Mrs. & Mrs. ~ The Honest Truth

I am a summer girl.  I love the warm weather, sun dresses, lack of shoes, frolicing outdoors.  Therefore, this time of year, is depressing and difficult for myself.  I hate bundling up and love to bake (hence Jessie’s article last week about weight gain).  All of these lead to hibernation, which is why we try to plan little adventures to look forward to, keeping us positive.  I wanted to share our adventure from last week and the story leading up to it.

Mrs. & Mrs. ~ Winter Blues & Extra Pounds

Oh.. oh oh oh.  The winter blues have hit us… and hard.  Connie and I have both been moody, stressed and downright depressed.  Living in the Midwest all our lives, you’d think we would have gotten used to the weather this time of year.  Thank goodness for our upcoming honeymoon!  We’re scheduled to leave for Mexico in a just a couple weeks and we can’t wait to soak up every ray of sunshine and be hooked up to margarita IV’s.  But as we prepare for our sunny escape in this gloomy, slushy, bitter cold of a city, we’ve noticed one thing.  We are not beach ready, we are better prepared for a cozy hibernation in a dark cave with all the comfort food we’ve been consuming.  All those pounds we shed for our wedding day?  Oh, they’re back and then some.

Mrs. & Mrs. ~ Quirks and Contentions: Sharing

When it comes to the topic of sharing, I am guilty of being a bad partner at times.  Don’t get me wrong, I will share most things with most people without a question or second thought.  However when it comes to sharing with my wife I am guilty of being somewhat terrible.

Mrs. & Mrs. ~ Quirks & Contentions: Week Two, Emotions

If you haven’t already figured it out through our past articles, Connie and I are extremely different!  So different, in fact, that I often find myself shocked that we love each other as well as we do.  It hasn’t always been easy but we have learned so much in our five years as a couple to help us understand and appreciate each other as extremely different people.  Connie is an organizational goddess, I am an absent minded goofball.  Connie is lady like and quiet, I will do anything (ANYTHING!) for a laugh.  I am an angel in the morning, Connie is a caffeine withdrawn monster.  Trivial things aside, the biggest difference (and challenge) between the two of us is how we process our emotions.
