Hi Everyone!
There really isn’t anything new going on with Mike and I this week. We are just trying to get everything together for my sister’s wedding in two weeks! Crazy how time flies. :)
In the world of 72 day “marriages” (not really sure we can call it that but what else to call it?), how do some couples stay married for decades (happily so) and why do some people marry time and time again (think J Lo)? theBrideScoop writers are all over the board with our relationships – single, dating, engaged, married, civil unionized, kids, no kids, cats, dogs… you get the point! But we got to thinking, what makes for a happy marriage? And can it be as easy as 1-2-3 by using a checklist?
Hi Everyone!
What amazing weather we have had for the past several days! After being warned that this winter was going to be one of the worst, I think we got off pretty easy.
Thank you to Amber DiNenna at the Chicago Tribune for her article: Materialism Can Take Toll on Marriage.
When both spouses focus solely on the “for richer” part of their marriage vows, there could be trouble, according to a recent study by Brigham Young University and William Paterson University. The study used self-surveys of 1,700 married couples to gauge materialism, asking how much they agreed with statements such as “I like to own things to impress people” or “Money can buy happiness.”
Hi Everyone!
I am happy to report that my sister’s wedding shower in California was a success as well as our trip out there! The flights were great, the weather was perfect and as always it was so nice to see everyone!
During the last season of Oprah’s highly rated day time television show, the first lady of talk had President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on and they spoke openly about their marriage. Mrs. Obama said, “It has to be a true partnership, and you have to really, really like and respect the person that you’re married to because it’s a hard road.”
Hi Everyone!
I can’t believe today is the first day of March!!! It’s crazy how fast time really does fly! On Friday, we are flying to LA and then driving up the coast to my parents for a weekend of family and my sister’s shower. It will be nice to see all of our San Luis friends.
