MONEY MONDAY: Tax Day 2012

We celebrate (or lament) money issues every week with a variety of articles for MONEY MONDAY.  And today is probably the biggest headache for most people in regards to money ~ other than paying for a wedding!!!  We cannot help you with your taxes, so theBrideScoop writers took turns looking at different ways to save you a buck!

MONEY MONDAY: Thought for Today ~ Larry Burkett

Money is an area of marriage that can be used to
develop good communications.
It is a tool God has given you to learn a great deal about each other.
For instance, just talking about the kind of home that you want to live in
helps you to learn a lot about each other.

~ Larry Burkett

MONEY MONDAY: Something Borrowed

Everyone has heard of:  Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.  And it is usually the something blue that stumps our brides!  But we would like to discuss the something borrowed part today for MONEY MONDAY.

Budget Bear: Finds More Discounts on PAPER!

The wedding shower is finally finalized and Mommy is buying invitations.  Since we are in a bit of a time crunch (the majority of guests are from out of town), Mommy decided to find them online instead of make them herself.

MONEY MONDAY: Beware of Cheap Wedding Vendors

Thanks to our friend Officiant Larry James at Celebrate Intimate Weddings for his article Beware of “Cheap” Wedding Vendors!   We could not agree more!

It’s difficult for a wedding vendor to imitate a true wedding professional.  But there are those who try and often deceive their clients into going the cheap route.  If it sounds to good to be true… it probably is.  If it sounds like a duck, well… (you know the rest).  One bad vendor can ruin a celebration and there is no time for buyer’s remorse on your wedding day.

Budget Bear: Would winning the lottery change your wedding?

With the Mega Millions on everyone’s mind last week, Mommy and Daddy asked themselves what would they do with all that money!  Of course the wedding came up as a topic.  Surprisingly, Mommy wouldn’t change much at all (I guess that is a good thing).  She said would probably add chair covers, more flowers, a gazebo/canopy (instead of an arch), and probably pay for hotel rooms for out of town guests.

IN THEORY: No Such Thing as “Day Of” Wedding Coordination

I do not know which wedding planner coined the term “day of” wedding coordination but I really want to kill her (or him)!  We get brides that call and ask us to just show up for the day to manage their perfect wedding day.  Sorry… it really does not work that way!!!
