Gourmet Rambler Competing for Charity!

We adore theBrideScoop Food Editor Tatiana Abramova a/k/a Gourmet Rambler and we will be at Sono Wood Fired Pizzeria on Monday, October 1, 2012, to cheer her on as she competes for charity!

Made famous by reality food shows like Bravo’s Top Chef, The Palate Challenge – where a blindfolded contestant is fed ingredients and asked to identify them using only their sense of taste – is among the most popular in the food community.  The natural question that a dedicated foodie might ask, after seeing it demonstrated on television is naturally:  “…could I do that!?”.

Seven of Chicago’s most popular foodies will soon find out the answer as they test the state of their spirit and their palates at The Big Palate Challenge at Sono Wood Fired Pizzeria on October 1, 2012.  Spectators are invited to purchase a $20 ticket to watch the fun and celebrate the brave contenders with wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres.  The FULL ticket price will be donated to Share Our Strength.

The Contenders:
Anthony Todd:  Food and Drink Editor at Chicagoist

Each contender will be given 20 ingredients in 30 minutes, which they will identify by taste while blindfolded.  Correct answers will be carefully tallied and the owner of the winning palate will receive a prize in the form of a $100 donation to Share Our Strength, made in their name.

Guests of the event will also take part in their own mini palate challenge and given the opportunity to identify five ingredients in a mystery hors d’oeuvres.   All correct answers will receive a $10 gift certificate to Sono Wood Fired Pizzeria.
