Hey all!
44 days and counting….
Well, another week goes by and another big event happened! Saturday was CJ’s bachelor party! To say it was a great time is an understatement! It’s nice to actually be able to write about it because there is NOTHING that needs to be kept secret – which I guess makes it sound like it was really boring. Not quite!
The night started off at El Jardin (CJ’s FAVORITE place for a margarita!), when people started showing up it all made sense… the first stop was only for the people in the wedding party. We sat and had a couple drinks and then trekked up the street to The Stretch in Wrigleyville. The Stretch is owned by some ISU alumni and since that is where CJ went to school, they rolled out the red carpet! We had an open bar for a couple of hours and people were taking advantage of it!
After The Stretch it was off to The Bedford, which is in an old bank vault, highly recommended since the atmosphere is matched by the quality of the food and drink. After The Bedford it was a quick stop at the hipster dive bar The Charleston – brief, but boozy… it was a nice stop. We finalized the evening with a trip to Matilda’s and Baby Atlas (the bar in the basement) – an impromptu dance party started and went on forever! It was the best of the 80’s NON-stop and it could not have been more fun!!!! Perhaps there was even a stripper pole involved.
As much as it would be nice to share pictures because it wasn’t THAT crazy… that is not bachelor party etiquette – what happens on the party bus, STAYS on the party bus!!!
This weekend is a trip out to CJ’s parent’s house to discuss some rehearsal dinner plans and then next weekend is Dr. Tim’s wild party! Not sure how much info you’ll get on that as Dr. Tim isn’t the one who really likes to share details.
Cheers!
CJ and Dr. Tim
