Hey all!
50 days and counting….
WOW! We feel like we were just talking about there being 100 days to go and now we are at 50! Time sure does fly when you are having fun – well, having fun and also having a crazy summer schedule of running around all the time just “doing stuff.” We wish everyone a HAPPY 4TH OF JULY and hope you all had a wonderful day of BBQ and sun!
We had quite the ordeal on the 4th – as we were making dinner we heard a VERY loud bang and thought it was just another drunk person on the roof across the street lighting an M-80 but it actually turned out to be the transformer in the alley exploding and rendering us without power on the hottest day of the year! NOT FUN! Needless to say, we cancelled our plans of having people come over to our roof to watch the fireworks and the two of us just sat in the house clinging on to whatever air conditioning we could keep in the house.
We went up to the roof and watched the fireworks for a bit but went back down and sat in the house (the very dark house) and talked about how the wedding is quickly approaching and how we still feel like there is so much to be done… even though so much has already been completed. It kept our minds off of the rising temperature inside (by this time it was 88 degrees in the house) and our rising frustration with ComEd who had been camped out in the alley for four hours not doing anything!!! By 3:00 a.m. – the power was back and the air was on and we were relishing in it like two kids in a sprinkler!
This weekend is the bachelor party kick-off! CJ starts first. All he knows is, be ready by 4:30 p.m. – vague but promising! From what our friends are saying, it’s going to be a blast. And with our friends, there is no doubt it will be a night to remember… or if done correctly, a night to kinda remember! CJ has kept a low profile on talking about being excited about the party, I think it’s one of those things where you just have to let it happen and it will be a ton more fun than if you obsess and wonder what is going to happen. This is VERY unlike CJ – he loves details and always wants a minute to minute plan of what the event will be. Letting go of this has been a challenge… we shall see what happens!!!!
Have a great weekend and STAY COOL!!!
Cheers!
CJ and Dr. Tim
