Weather forecasters are saying that Hurricane Sandy could be the biggest storm to hit the United States mainland when it comes ashore on Monday night, bringing strong winds and dangerous flooding. But the storm has already wrecked havoc on travel and crashed a wedding or two!
We have shared with you when weddings meet with the unexpected including a Kansas tornado or NATO protestors.
One happy couple tried to plan around the hurricane by selecting a time of the year when natural disasters are less common and ended up with Sandy as a wedding crasher!
Melissa Milstead and Rocco Quaranto of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina said, “We picked this date trying to steer clear of hurricanes. We had a light season and then all of a sudden, Sandy shows up for the party.”
In the end, they decided not to let the change of weather dampen their wedding plans. Melissa said, “I bought some new rain boots and we have matching umbrellas, so we’re going to make the most of the situation.”
